Concept

We find ourselves in an eventful era, sensing change, unrest, excitement; truly a bizarre time. In this current, uncertain, and highly tense times, we want to express our thoughts through music. The word “bizarre” has many meanings – strange, peculiar, whimsical, eccentric. Our ensemble wants to explore this term musically. To do so, we have carefully compiled a rich repertoire containing unusual works. From the bass recorder to the viola, from early Baroque to early classical literature, from Merula to Bach; we combine various types of instruments, pieces, epochs that may not seem to fit together at first glance but are capable of evoking strong emotions, surprising, and moving the audience. At the same time, our repertoire will also include calm pieces, musical compositions that aim to provide comfort and hope for a better future.
